The self-led tour offers a unique insight into the working conditions of the Bronze Age miners who worked this site nearly 4000 years ago. Our comprehensive learning pack and education room facility allows your group to gain a thorough understanding of the site’s history, before heading out to experience the mine first hand.

Whats included with your Visit?

Learning Pack & Education Room Access

Access to our education room where your group will be provided with a learning pack to help guide your way through the information boards and the artefacts on display. There is also a short video to watch about the rediscovery of the mine.

Recreated Smelting Site Walk Through

A surface walk to a recreated smelting site where your group can watch a film showing the process of copper smelting and bronze casting.

Bronze Age mine 200 metres walk through

A walk through 200 metres of underground Bronze Age mine workings, passing one of the largest prehistoric man-made chambers yet discovered as well as tunnels so small they could have only been mined by children.

A look back to the Victorian Period

A look at the redevelopment of the mines during the Victorian period.
